Nilinde Community health workers
Nilinde (Support for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Nairobi and Coast Counties of Kenya) is a five-year USAID-funded project dedicated to improving the welfare and protection of children affected by HIV and AIDS.
Sustaining HIV care and treatment is always challenging, but children living with the illness pose unique challenges. Nilinde implemented a three-prong approach to achieving epidemic control. The success of this hinged on the use of community health workers. This brief provides details on the technical approach and results.
