Youth Advisory Board

The Plan International USA Youth Advisory Board is a body of young people ages 14-22 from all corners of the U.S.

Alongside staff and leadership, we work as a core part of Plan USA and are youth ambassadors of Plan’s global mission, advancing diverse perspectives and ensuring the agency of youth in building a better world. Together, we won’t stop until we are all equal.

What does a YAB member do?

Dedicate at least 10 hours per month to accomplish the following:

  • Attend full YAB meetings and subcommittee meetings monthly, as well as other events and external engagements as applicable,
  • Attend advocacy events/opportunities at member’s discretion,
  • Provide input into youth-related policies, practices and programs for both internal and external Plan USA programming,
  • Support or lead ideation, planning, recruitment for and facilitation of the annual, fully YAB-led Youth Leadership Academy.

Plan International USA covers all expenses related to Youth Advisory Board engagement to ensure our programming is as accessible and barrier-free as possible for all young people in the U.S. YAB members receive a bi-annual stipend for fulfilling the above responsibilities.
