Nilinde (Support for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Nairobi and Coast Counties of Kenya) is a five-year USAID-funded project dedicated to improving the welfare and protection of children affected by HIV and AIDS.
Data and digital technologies are changing the way international development programs are implemented. Data-informed decision-making is a proactive and interactive process that considers data during program monitoring, planning and improvement. Kenya has experienced many challenges in digitizing and managing its data on orphan and vulnerable children and lacked a centralized tracking system.
This brief looks at the program approach to strengthening data collection and storage in Kenya and the impact this has on providing improved care.
