Caroline

In the summer of 2014, Caroline participated in a Plan leadership training. She was inspired by the calls to global action, and was selected to represent Plan at the 2014 United Nations Climate Summit. This experience fueled her passion for global climate action, advancing climate justice by focusing on adaptation in front-line nations.

At Cornell University, Caroline received her B.S. in environmental and sustainability sciences, as well as music, and continued to explore climate justice policy.

Then, in 2018, Caroline served as a delegate to COP24, the U.N. climate negotiations in Poland, where she helped the Kingdom of Tonga advocate for a loss and damages mechanism.

The next year, she represented Plan at the “entry into force,” or the commencement, for the Paris Agreement, as well as the 2019 U.N. Youth Climate Action Summit, where she spoke about the impacts of climate change on women and children.

After graduating college, Caroline worked as a legislative advocate in Albany, New York, for the Adirondack Council, lobbying for stronger environmental protections for her home region. She also worked as a ski instructor and event manager for the Olympic Regional Development Authority. Currently, Caroline is studying for her master’s degree in environmental policy at Clarkson University, where she is also an assistant cross country and Nordic ski coach, combining her passions for climate policy and winter sports.

Finally, in November 2022, Caroline was a delegate for the COP27 conference in Egypt, where she advocated for a stronger climate justice focus in international policy and connected with young people who are working on climate change issues from around the world.
